Ceres High School's junior-varsity football squad pitched a shutout in the first half and held on for a 21-6 victory over Ripon on Friday at Bulldog Stadium.
"It's a great way to start off the season," head coach Clinton Goblirsch said. "It was a total team effort."

The Bulldogs will try to end 12 years of futility. Ceres High's last season-opening win came against Sonora in 1997.
