Angel Alvarado, 19, of Ceres, hopefully learned a lesson on Monday evening that compliance during a traffic stop is far smarter than trying to flee. The Ceres man led police on a high-speed pursuit and was arrested.
The incident started at 11:45 p.m. when Ceres Police Officer Eric Souza attempted to stop Alvarado’s Jeep Grand Cherokee for vehicle code violations in the area of Hatch and Herndon roads. Alvarado accelerated for a pursuit that ended near the intersection of Hatch and Moffett roads. The suspect was ordered out of the car at gunpoint and went to jail for evading police in a vehicle and driving without a driver’s license.
