Suspects in the Dec. 21 double fatal shooting in Modesto were apprehended Thursday, one who led deputies on a pursuit into Ceres.
Investigators arrested Amber Gartin, 20, Salvador Licea-Valencia, 28, and Manuel Alejandro Licea-Valencia, 24, all of Modesto, for the murders of Julian Sisk, 20, and Taurean Travis, 19, on Thrasher Avenue.
Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a car at Crows Landing Road and Colusa Avenue containing two of the suspects. As driver Amber Gartin, 20, was being arrested passenger Salvador Licea-Valencia slid into the driver’s seat and sped off with two young children inside. Deputies chased the car to Whitmore and Blaker avenues in Ceres where it crashed into another vehicle. The collision caused the other vehicle to collide into a third vehicle. All occupants were either uninjured or had minor injuries. The children were Medi-flighted to a children’s hospital out of the area out of an abundance of caution and found not to have injuries.
Salvador Licea-Valencia was taken into custody at the scene of the Ceres crash.
Manuel Alejandro Licea-Valencia was detained by police in Corning, the same day after working with Modesto Police detectives.
Detectives are asking anyone with information in the homicide investigation to contact Detective Josh Grant at (209) 342-6104 or Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
