Arrest warrants for theft charges land two women in jail

Two women occupying a vehicle parked at the Herndon Road 7-Eleven were arrested Tuesday afternoon April 1 on separate theft charges.

At approximately 2:29 p.m., Officer Christian Diaz was patrolling the area of Hatch and and Herndon roads when he recognized a Nissan Altima belonging to Monica Santana, 35, of Ceres who had a felony arrest warrant related to a theft charge. Officer Diaz arrested Santana, who was sitting behind the wheel.

A records check on occupant Celia Vigil, 39, of Turlock revealed she also had a felony arrest warrant related to theft.

Both Santana and Vigil were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
