A 38-year-old Ceres man wanted for a prior auto theft charge was arrested in an early Sunday car stop.
At 1:57 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Juan Ramos was patrolling the area of Pecos Avenue and Acacia Street when he stopped the driver of a Cadillac CTS for vehicle code violations. Officer Ramos made contact with the driver, Miguel Vargas, 38, of Ceres and through a routine records check learned about his felony arrest warrant for auto theft.
Vargas was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
