A 54-year-old Modesto man stopped by Ceres Police while riding his bicycle Tuesday evening, Feb. 18, was jailed for possession of illegal narcotics.
Officer Charles Lord-Huff was in the area of Hatch Road near Church Lane at approximately 11:38 p.m. when he stopped Ronald Jones for committing illegal moves on his bicycle. A routine records check revealed Jones had two felony warrants issued for his arrest relating to prior arson and vehicle theft cases. During a search, Officer Lord-Huff found a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine on the suspect.
Dispatchers informed the officer that Jones had two or more prior conviction for possession of a controlled substance.
Jones was arrested and booked into the county jail on the two felony warrants and new charges of possession of a controlled substance with two prior convictions of possession of a controlled substance.
