Clayton Areias, 26, of Ceres learned a hard lesson early Monday morning when he crashed his car into a fence and was arrested for drunken driving.

The crash was reported at approximately 2 a.m. in the 2100 block of Rose Avenue. Officer Charles Lord-Huff arrived on scene and found a Dodge sedan that crashed and noticed Areias appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Areias participated in field sobriety tests which indicated he was inebriated and was arrested for DUI. A breath sample into the breathalyzer showed his blood alcohol content to be two times over the legal limit.

Areias was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center
