Romero Gomez Ramirez, 39, of Ceres was arrested for drunken driving last week.

Ramirez was stopped by Ceres Police Officer Tyler Wilson at 11:53 p.m. on Sunday after being observed violating the vehicle code in the area Hatch Road and Central Avenue.

After stopping the GMC pickup, Officer Wilson detected the odor of alcohol on Ramirez’s breath which prompted a DUI investigation. Another officer took over the investigation which led to Romero’s arrest for DUI. A breath sample showed him to be over double the legal limit of alcohol content to drive. Romero was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
