Ceres man, 54, arrested on two warrants in car stop

A 54-year-old Ceres man who was stopped in traffic for allegedly committing vehicle code violations was arrested for the two warrants issued for his arrest.

On Tuesday afternoon, April 8 at approximately 2:24 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Josiah Mardirosian was patrolling the area of Central Avenue near Hatch Road when he stopped Jack Shafer who was driving a Acura MDX for vehicle code violations. Officer Mardirosian quickly learned through a records check, that Shafer had an arrest warrant for felony vandalism and another for an assault charge. Shafer was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
