Police want to identify this man who robbed the Westamerica Bank in Ceres on Aug. 23

The Ceres Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two men who pulled off the robbery of Westamerica Bank at 1788 Mitchell Road on Friday afternoon, Aug. 23.

Photos from surveillance video were released in the hopes that someone can identity the two men or the damaged van they rode in.

The video shows the two men exiting a silver-colored Honda Odyssey van at 2:43 p.m. One man went inside the bank, and handed the teller a note claiming that he had a bomb and demanded money. The other man acted as a lookout. Fearing for her life, the teller handed over money from her cash drawer. He then fled the bank and both suspects climbed into the van and drove off.

Police said it is possible that additional suspects were inside the van, which appeared to have damage to the rear bumper and a broken driver’s side passenger window.

The men appear to be Hispanic.
Anyone who knows the identity or whereabouts of the suspects is urged to call Ceres Police Detective Trinidad Viramontes at 538-5730.
