A 52-year-old Ceres woman was taken into custody on Thursday evening after she was discovered driving a stolen Ford Fusion.

Ceres Police Officer Alfredo Berriatua was patrolling the area of Mitchell Road and Whitmore Avenue at 7:56 p.m. when he was alerted to the stolen car. Officer Berriatua initiated a felony traffic stop on Della Drive near Whitmore Avenue and took driver Asuncion Landavazo out of the car at gunpoint with the help of additional officers.

Landavazo was arrest for auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
