A 54-year-old Ceres man who was loitering on the grounds of St. Jude’s Catholic Church at 3824 Mitchell Road which has been experiencing vandalism and break-ins was arrested early Thursday on an arrest warrant.

At 12:06 a.m. Officer Trinidad Viramontes spotted Paul Lovett, 54, who he later learned was wanted for an outstanding felony arrest warrant issued by the California Department of Corrections and Habilitation for violating his parole. Lovett was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
