A 43-year-old Modesto man was arrested on drunken driving charges early Saturday after he collided into the center median at the intersection of Mitchell and Service roads.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:02 a.m.

Officer Charles Lord-Huff located the black Honda Accord which was still occupied by driver Joshua Gonzales, 43, of Modesto. Officers immediately suspected that Gonzales was under the influence of alcohol. Officer Lord-Huff conducted a DUI investigation, giving Gonzales in a series of field sobriety tests which he performed consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol. Gonzales was arrested and provided breath samples that showed his blood alcohol content was four times the legal limit of an adult to drive. Police learned that Gonzales’ license was suspended due to a prior DUI conviction.

Gonzales was booked the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI and driving on a suspended license for DUI.
