An injury accident atop the Pine Street Highway 99 overpass on Tuesday evening, Oct. 29 led to the arrest of a Ceres man on charges of a DUI causing bodily injury.

The crash occurred at 7:36 p.m. Ceres Police Officer Charles Lord-Huff responded to the scene and immediately noticed that Victor Ortiz, 29, of Ceres, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. After a DUI investigation and Ortiz providing breath samples that showed his blood alcohol content was over four times the legal limit of an adult to drive, the arrest was made.

Ortiz was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
