A 69-year-old Modesto man was arrested during a Saturday morning traffic stop on drug charges.

Ceres Police Officer Christian Diaz was patrolling the 1300 block of Hatch Road at approximately 10:36 a.m. when he stopped the driver of a red-colored Ford F150 pickup for vehicle code violations. Officer Diaz contacted driver Danny Silva, 69, of Modesto and a passenger. During the stop, he could see drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. While searching Silva, Officer Diaz located a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine and a plastic baggy containing over 24 grams of a white crystal-like substance suspected of being methamphetamine.

Silva was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance for sales.
