Ceres Police arrested Eric Perez-Torres, 24, of Modesto, who hit a parked car in the 1700 block of Nadine Avenue and was found to be driving while intoxicated.

The crash was reported at 8:40 p.m.

Police said residents attempted to detain Perez-Torres and as he got out of his BMW and attempted to remove a full length shotgun from his pants. He couldn’t get the weapon out fast enough before the residents were able to tackle him. They wrestled the shotgun away from Perez-Torres and detain him until police arrived.

A convicted felon who was on probation for DUI/weapons and several other charges, Perez-Torres was arrested for DUI, weapons possession and probation violations.
