Two persons were killed in a suspected drunk driving crash in eastern Stanislaus County less than four hours after the new year arrived.

The solo rollover crash was reported at 3:42 a.m. on Lake Road east of Roberts Ferry Road. Killed in the crash were a 28-year-old Turlock man and another passenger whose age, gender and hometown were unknown.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a westbound Toyota sedan driven by Isaac Urbeana, 23, of La Grange, overturned off the south road edge at a sharp bend and two passengers sitting in the backseat were ejected and sustained fatal injuries. Neither were wearing seat belts.

Amber Sauls, 21, of Oakdale, the right front passenger, sustained major injuries. She was rushed by ambulance of Doctors Medical Center with major injuries.

Urbeana sustained minor injuries and was arrested for felony DUI and felony gross vehicular manslaughter.
