A 66-year-old Modesto man was arrested on charges of driving while drunk after he fled the scene of a crash in the intersection of Central Avenue and Millcreek Drive on Wednesday evening, Dec. 11.

At 8:26 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Christian Diaz responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision whereby the driver of a Toyota Tundra, Frankie Borja, was followed by a Good Samaritan to a residence in the 700 block of Shallow Stream Way. Officers found Borja and immediately detected signs of him being under the influence of alcohol. During a series of field sobriety tests he was determined to be intoxicated, which was confirmed through a breath sample that he was over double the legal limit of alcohol to drive.

Borja was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
