The 50-year-old driver of a Cadillac Escalade was arrested Saturday evening after he allegedly drove drunk and recklessly and hit another vehicle and injuring its occupant.
At 10:16 p.m., a Ceres Police dispatcher received a report of the reckless driver swerving and speeding in the area of Mitchell and Don Pedro roads. Witnesses saw the Escalade collide with another vehicle and flee the area. Witnesses followed the Escalade to the area of Kiwi and Waterlily where Sgt. Hooper located it.
Police discovered two males in the area and determined that Sukhijinder Singh was the driver. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol/and or drugs. After a DUI investigation was conducted, Singh was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI and felony hit and run.
