A 37-year-old Salida man was arrested for drunken driving after he was involved in a Saturday evening car crash in the 1600 block of Herndon Avenue.
Ceres Police Officer Sam Garcia was dispatched to the 5:18 p.m. crash and noticed that one of the drivers, Jeffery McGill had the strong smell of alcohol on his breath. A DUI investigation was initiated and McGill was deemed performing field sobriety tests consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol. McGill provided a breath sample that showed his blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit for an adult to drive.
McGill was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI.
