An intoxicated 26-year-old Modesto man was taken into custody on Thursday evening after was spotted by Sergeant Vince Hooper driving the wrong direction on Mitchell Road.

At 11:30 p.m. Hooper pulled over the white Volkswagen Jetta driven by Rodimiro Romero Lopez at Hatch Road. Lopez appeared to be heavily intoxicated, After a DUI investigation by Officer Kevin Roseen concluded that Lopez was drunk, he submitted to a breath test that showed his blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit to drive a vehicle. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
