A 46-year-old Modesto man who was wanted to stand trial in court for a robbery charge was picked up by a Ceres Police officer on Wednesday evening, Jan. 22.

 Sgt. Aaron Pinon was patrolling the 1300 block of Herndon Road at approximately 8:29 p.m. when he spotted Quiano Smith, 46, of Modesto, for whom he knew to have a felony arrest warrant. The sergeant watched Smith get into a white Toyota Camry at the 7-Eleven gas station and drive across the street to the Taco Bell where a traffic stop was conducted. Smith was arrested and transported to the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
