A Sunday morning vehicle stop in the area of Hatch Road and Herndon Road resulted in a confiscated a firearm and a high-capacity magazine – and the arrest of the driver and sole occupant.

At approximately 9:04 a.m., Officer Christian Diaz pulled over David Souphapho, 36, of Modesto, who committed a vehicle code violation in his Acura SUV.

Officer Diaz established probable cause to search the driver and his vehicle which produced the unlawful possession of the weapon and magazine. 

Souphapho was arrested for weapons violations and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
