Ceres Police investigators are looking into a report of a home invasion robbery in the 1000 block of Winepress Lane early Saturday.
The break-in was reported at 6:24 a.m., said Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jose Berber, with three men slipping into the home through an unlocked back sliding glass door and holding three occupants at gunpoint. Sgt. Berber said the 25-year-old male homeowner was held at bay with his 13-year-old brother and 15-year-old cousin. It was reported that they demanded his cell phone and when he said he didn't have one they searched for and took two TV sets. Sgt. Berber said the thieves deliberately shattered a third TV set on the floor of a bedroom.
As the suspects fled the home, the homeowner caught a glimpse of small red-colored car leaving the area.
"This is an odd case because television sets were taken," said Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jose Berber. "Normally they search the house for other valuables like money."
Police were given a vague description of the suspects, one in which their ethnicity was not noted.
Anyone with information on the crime is urged to call the Crime Stoppers line at 521-4636. or a new Ceres Police tip line at 538-5740.
