Two local men were arrested on drug charges during a Tuesday, Jan. 23 traffic made after the driver broke a traffic law.
At midnight Officer Matthew Myers was patrolling the area of Stanford Avenue and Kay Street when he stopped a grey-colored Toyota Camry for vehicle code violations. Officer Myers conducted checks on both occupants, Arnulfo Torres, 26, of Modesto, and Nathan Schierenbeck, 26, of Ceres and learned that both men had felony warrants for their arrest. While searching Torres, Officer Myers located a baggy containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine or fentanyl. While searching Schierenbeck, Officer Myers discovered a canvas pouch containing 10 small baggies of the same white powdery substance found on Torres.
Officer Myers found additional items causing him to believe Schierenbeck was in possession of the narcotics with the intent to sell them. Schierenbeck was arrested for the two felony warrants and being in possession of a controlled substance for sales.
Torres was arrested for the felony warrant and being in possession of a controlled substance.
Both men were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
