A 17-year-old Modesto boy suspected of being intoxicated led Ceres Police on a chase Friday evening which ended in a crash into a vehicle.

The episode unfolded at 11:24 p.m. when Ceres Officer Charles Lord-Huff was patrolling the area of Glen Harbor Drive and Fowler Road and spotted a stolen red-colored Hyundai Sonata. The officer followed the car while awaiting additional units when the juvenile sped off. Officer Lord-Huff attempted a traffic stop but the driver continued fleeing until another motorists crashed into the Hyundai, causing the suspect to lose control and collide into another uninvolved vehicle. One person in the car suffered a complaint of pain to their neck and ear but no one was taken to the hospital.

The suspect was taken into custody and was deemed under the influence of alcohol. He was booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on charges of auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, evading police in a vehicle and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of over .01 percent.

His name was not released due to being a minor.
