Loaded handgun found in car of at-large felon
Two arrested for possession of a loaded handgun in car
Jared Medeiros and Reyna Saldivar
Jared Medeiros and Reyna Saldivar were arrested on weapons charges on Saturday morning.

Two occupants of a Chevy Tahoe SUV flagged for code violations were arrested Saturday morning on warrants while a loaded handgun was removed for the vehicle.

At 8:54 a.m., Officer Eric Souza was patrolling the area of Berry Grove Park on Calcagno Street when he spotted a Chevrolet Tahoe that was in violation of several vehicle code violations and parked at the intersection of Lavon Lane and Lynley Drive.

Officer Souza contacted the two occupants, Reyna Saldivar, 28, and Jared Medeiros, 33, both of Modesto. A records check revealed Medeiros was on probation and had two felony warrants for his arrest while Saldivar had a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest.

The pair was handcuffed and a search of the Tahoe turned up a stolen 9mm Glock handgun with a high-capacity magazine loaded with live rounds.

Medeiros was arrested for the warrants and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a high-capacity magazine and carrying a stolen loaded firearm.

Saldivar was also charged with carrying a stolen loaded firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine.

Both were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
