A 59-year-old Modesto man driving through Ceres on Tuesday morning, July 6 was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant.
When Officer Jeffrey Godfrey spoke to Ricardo Salivar during the 10:36 a.m. traffic stop, he originally provided a false name. Godfrey discovered the lie and learned Salivar gave another name because he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Salivar was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus Public Safety Center with a new charge of giving a false identification to a peace officer.
