Ceres Police have arrested the man they believe robbed the Dollar General store in the Richland on Jan. 29 at gunpoint.

Ceres Police detectives located a vehicle in the 1900 block of Pleasant Avenue that had been used in the crime.

Detectives conducted surveillance on the vehicle and identified the suspect as 37-year-old Marc Garcia. Due to the use of a weapon in the robbery, the Ceres SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Teams were activated and responded to the scene.

After police established communication with Garcia, he surrendered without incident and was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on felony charges of armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Specifics about the crime were requested by the Courier but Ceres Police did not respond to the request.
