California is about as far away from Florida as a wanted man could be. So it was a bit surprising that a passenger in a Jan. 3 Ceres traffic stop was found to be the subject of felony warrant issued for him by police in the sunshine state.

At 6:11 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Tyler Wilson was cruising in the area of Lois Way and Darrah Street when he pulled over the driver of a Dodge sedan for vehicle code violations. A records check released that passenger Roberto Damian, 26, of Ceres was wanted on a felony warrant issued by Florida authorities. Damian was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
