A 77-year-old Modesto man whose license was suspended due to a DUI conviction was arrested Monday evening after leading Ceres Police on a short chase.

At 11:19 p.m., Officer Juan Ramos was in the area of Pecos Avenue and Ninth Street when he attempted to stop Agustin Torres for vehicle code violations as he drove a Ford Expedition. Torres failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated. Torres continued driving for approximately five minutes before pulling into a residence in the 1200 block of G Street in Modesto where he was removed and arrested.

A records check indicated Torres’ license was suspended due to a prior DUI.
