Man found with stolen trailer also carrying suspected meth

 A 38-year-old Delhi man was arrested in Ceres during a Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 15 traffic stop and was jailed on a number of charges.

At approximately 1:03 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Kyle Hatcher was patrolling the area of Moffett Road near River Creek Drive when he stopped Raul Hernandez Mendez, 38, of Delhi who was driving a Cadillac Escalade and towing a trailer. Mendez was stopped for vehicle code violations but Officer Hatcher learned that the trailer was stolen. 

While searching Escalade, Officer Hatcher located a white substance suspected as being methamphetamine as well as a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine.

Mendez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of auto theft, possession of the stolen trailer, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
