Man wanted for auto theft found with meth

After being spotted by a Ceres Police officer familiar with his warrants, Juan Salgado, 43, of Modesto was arrested Saturday morning in the 500 block of Ninth Street.

Officer Kyle Hatcher was on patrol at approximately 9:17 a.m. and recognized Salgado who was wanted for a felony arrest warrant to stand a charge of auto theft. Officer Hatcher arrested Salgado on the warrant and during a pat-down search found him to be carrying a baggy containing a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine. Additionally, Officer Hatcher located drug paraphernalia near Salgado.

Salgado was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with two or more prior convictions and possession of drug paraphernalia.
