A 47-year-old Ceres man with a felony arrest warrant for a prior charge of possession of a concealed knife was arrested Wednesday morning, Jan. 17 with yet another knife on him.
At 12:48 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Eric Souza was patrolling the business complex at 3505 Central Avenue when he saw Cristobal Melgoza, 47, of Ceres in front of a closed business. Officer Souza conducted a records check on Melgoza and discovered he was wanted on an arrest warrant. During the arrest, Officer Souza found Melgoza was carrying a concealed knife and several rounds of ammunition in his pockets. Melgoza is prohibited from possessing ammunition.
Melgoza was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the felony warrant and new charges of possession of a dirk or dagger and being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition.
