Meth, stolen catalytic converters land men in jail
Teng Yang and Kong Vang
Teng Yang and Kong Vang were arrested by Ceres Police on Saturday after being found with meth and stolen catalytic converters.

Two men were arrested Saturday morning after they fled from Ceres Police in a stolen vehicle and were found with drugs and stolen catalytic converters.

At 4:39 a.m., Sergeant Jon Blount was patrolling the area of Mitchell and Fowler roads when he located a stolen Honda Civic and attempted to stop it. The driver accelerated and a pursuit ended when the driver finally stopped in the 1900 block of Myrtlewood Drive and both occupants fled on foot. A perimeter was set up and both driver Kong Vang, 44, of Sacramento and passenger Teng Yang, 40, of Merced were arrested. A search of the car turned up catalytic converters and tools. Both had methamphetamine in their possession.

Kong was charged with evading a police officer, resisting arrest, and possession of a stolen vehicle, stolen property and methamphetamine.

Teng was charged with possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and possession of methamphetamine.

Both were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
