A 21-year-old Modesto man driving in Ceres was arrested early Wednesday, Oct. 2 for allegedly being drunk behind the wheel.

At 2:19 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Angel Murillo was patrolling the area of Mitchell Road and Dale Avenue when he stopped the driver of a Nissan Altima for vehicle code violations. Vulfrano Gutierrez appeared to be intoxicated so a DUI investigation was conducted. Gutierrez participated in a series of field sobriety tests performed in a manner consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol. Gutierrez was arrested and provided an evidentiary breath sample which was nearly three times the legal limit. Gutierrez was later booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
