Committing a code violation in front of a Ceres police officer was how 45-year-old Modesto resident Luis Rios landed in county jail on Sunday evening – because he had a warrant for his arrest.
Officer Tyler Wilson was patrolling the area of Central Avenue and Glasgow Drive at 8:33 p.m. when he stopped Rios, driving a GMC Yukon, violating the California Vehicle Code. Through a records check conducted by dispatchers, Officer Wilson learned that Rios was wanted on a felony warrant related to a prior assault. He was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
