A high-risk traffic stop made late Thursday resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old Modesto man on a variety of serious charges.
At 11:45 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of Whitmore Avenue and Faith Home Road when they located a red Ford Ranger reported as stolen. Officers called out the driver, Justin Kelley, and his passenger from the vehicle at gunpoint.
During the officers’ search of Kelley, they located a small baggy containing a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine.
A records check revealed Kelley was on probation. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on new charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, auto theft, probation violation and possession of a controlled substance.
