A 62-year-old Modesto man driving in Ceres was arrested during an early Sunday traffic stop and charged with driving while intoxicated.

At 1:03 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Michael Ferreira was patrolling the area of Mitchell Road and Mitchell Plaza when he stopped Primitivo Perez Mendoza in a Toyota Camry for vehicle code violations. When Officer Ferreira spoke to the driver, he suspected he was under the influence of alcohol. Mendoza was given a series of field sobriety tests which indicated that he wasn’t fit to drive.

His breath samples showed his blood alcohol content was over double the legal limit for an adult to drive.

Mendoza was booked for DUI at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
