A 39-year-old Modesto man was arrested on drug charges Sunday afternoon after Home Depot loss prevention officers called police about a possible theft involving him and a female companion.
At 3:02 p.m., Officer Jessica Graham was dispatched to the store on Hatch Road where the employee pointed to Beau Shryock, 39, of Modesto, as being involved and noted that a female with Shryock had attempted to still a power drill by concealing it in her purse. The woman took off running when the agent confronted her at the door.
Shryock claimed to have no involvement.
During a pat down search, Officer Graham located a large knife attached to his belt. He also had another knife attached to his keychain.
Shryock arrived in a Fiat, with Texas plates belonging to a Chevy. The vehicle ID number traced to a car stolen in Texas.
Inside the vehicle was a collapsible baton and drug paraphernalia, including syringes that were filled with what appeared to be heroin.
Shryock was arrested on charges of grand theft auto, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a collapsible baton.
The female suspect was not located.
