A 39-year-old Modesto man who was wanted for five warrants for charges that include assaults, drug charges and trespassing was arrested Saturday morning.

At 11:53 a.m., Ceres Police Officer Christian Diaz was patrolling the businesses in the 1300 block of Hatch Road when he spotted a man with whom he was familiar, Nathaniel Turpitt, 39, of Modesto. Turpitt was in front of the Dollar Tree. Knowing of the warrants, Officer Diaz made contact with Turpitt and ascertained the warrants were still outstanding. He was arrested and booked into jail.
