It may be the first time in Ceres Police history that an officer did a traffic stop on a DUI suspect riding on three missing tires and dragging a front bumper and that’s what happened Tuesday evening, Nov. 19.

At 11:56 p.m. Officer Aaron Pinon was on patrol in the area of Mitchell Road and Nicholas Way when he saw a green Honda Accord traveling south bound on Mitchell Road that was damaged from a prior crash. The car was riding on its rims and had only one tire on the right rear side.

Officer Pinon pulled in behind the Honda and flipped on flashing lights to conduct a traffic stop. Driver Angelica De La Torre, 21, of Ceres pulled over into a parking lot. She appeared to be drunk and not only failed field sobriety tests, but gave a breath sample which showed that she was more than twice the legal limit of alcohol to drive.

Her car was towed and De La Torre was later booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI.
