A 40-year-old Ceres woman was arrested Wednesday evening after she reportedly was intoxicated in a parking lot car crash.

Two cars collided at 5:57 p.m. in the parking lot of the Habit Burger restaurant.

Officer Matthew Myers spoke to one of the drivers, Nancy Castillo, 40, of Ceres who appeared intoxicated. She was arrested after performing field sobriety tests similar to someone under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Castillo was arrested for DUI and opted to give Officer Myers a breath sample, which was over twice the legal limit to drive.

Prior to booking Castillo in jail, Officer Myers learned the other driver was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries so the charge was upgraded to felony DUI.
