When Officer John Vera conducted a traffic stop on Michael Bettencourt, 28, of Ceres, on Wednesday, Nov. 5, his probation status allowed a search of the car for drugs.

Bettencourt was stopped at 11:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of Whitmore Avenue. The search turned up concentrated cannabis. He was arrested for possession.
