Two occupants of a car stopped by Ceres Police on Saturday evening were arrested because of a loaded firearm found in the center console as well as drugs and drug paraphernalia.

At 10:28 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Jacob Henn was patrolling the area of Hatch Road near Church Lane when he stopped the driver of a black BMW 330 for vehicle code violations.

Officer Henn was able to search the vehicle and located a loaded firearm near the center console, readily accessible to both occupants. Officer Henn also found a glass pipe used to ingest methamphetamine and a white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

Driver Eddie Luna, 42, of Modesto, was arrested on charges of possession of a loaded firearm in public, driving on a suspended license and carrying a loaded firearm not registered in his name.

Also booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center was passenger Destiny Guerrero, 23, of Ceres, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
