A 41-year-old Merced County resident was arrested for drunken driving following a crash at Hatch and Mitchell roads Wednesday evening, March 10.
The crash occurred at 6:46 p.m. and caused disabled vehicles to block traffic.
Driver Jose Cortes, 41, of Stevinson displayed signs of intoxication. Following a DUI investigation conducted by Officer Gloria Blakeslee, Cortes was arrested for driving under the influence. After he blew into a breathalyzer, Cortez was found to have almost twice the legal amount of alcohol within his system.
He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI.
