Officers were in the area of Whitmore Avenue and Faith Home Road on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 5 when they located a silver-colored Jeep Cherokee reported stolen. With the assistance of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, a high-risk stop was conducted at 1:39 p.m. in the area of Tully Road near Whitmore Avenue. Officer Aaron Pinon took the lead on the investigation which resulted in driver Rodrigo Ortiz Chavez, 32, of Vacaville being arrested for auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Chavez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
