A 26-year-old Modesto auto theft suspect was arrested in Ceres and the stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee he was driving returned to its owner Friday afternoon.
Ceres Police Officer Tyler Wilson was patrolling the area of River Road and Avon Street at 2:37 p.m. when he came upon the stolen Jeep. Officer Wilson pulled over the driver and observed two other passengers inside the car. He called for back-up officers to help remove the occupants out of the Jeep at gunpoint. The two passengers were released but driver Jose Aguilar of Modesto was arrested. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on two charges – auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
