Stolen Subaru recovered and suspect jailed

A stolen Subaru Impreza was recovered and a 39-year-old Turlock man arrested for auto theft early Thursday.

At 12:07 a.m., Officer Charles Lord-Huff was patrolling the 2300 block of Crows Landing Road when he spotted the stolen car parked at the AM/PM convenience store at 2301 Crows Landing Road. A high-risk stop was conducted with backup officers to remove Billy Nix, 39, of Turlock and a passenger from the vehicle. 

The passenger was released from the scene.

Nix was arrested for auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
