Three juveniles were arrested Sunday evening after they fled from Ceres Police in a stolen car.
Arrested were a 14-year-old boy from Ceres, a 13-year-old boy from Turlock and a 13 year-old male from Delhi. All three subjects were booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle charges.
The silver-colored Hyundai Elantra was first spotted in the area of Grandview Avenue and Herndon Road by an officer who lost sight of it. At 6:38 p.m., Officer Steve Carvalho began patrolling through the area in his search for the car. In the 1500 block of Grandview Avenue, Officer Carvalho saw the vehicle accelerating his direction and pull over to the shoulder. As Officer Carvalho neared the car, the three teens were standing next to it but ran and hid in the area after they noticed Officer Carvalho.
All three boys were apprehended with the help of the Modesto Police fixed wing plane and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department helicopter.
The identities of the suspects were not released because of their age.
